WHAT MAKES HANDSOME SKIN DIFFERENT?
Handsome Skin combines certified UPF 50+ protection with an open-tip design. Covered skin is physically protected, while fingertips and nails remain free for touch, grip, and precision.
WHAT DOES UPF 50+ MEAN?
UPF indicates how much UVA and UVB radiation is blocked by textiles. UPF 50+ is the highest official class, meaning that at least 98% of UV radiation is blocked by the fabric it covers.
WHAT IS INDEPENDENTLY TESTED?
The fabric has been tested by SGS and, according to the test results, blocks more than 99% of UVA and UVB radiation. The fabric also complies with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class I at fabric level.
WHAT DOES OEKO-TEX® PRODUCT CLASS I MEAN?
Product Class I is the strictest product class within OEKO-TEX® and is intended for textiles with high demands on skin contact. The certification applies to the tested fabric.
IS THE PROTECTION A CHEMICAL COATING?
No. The protection comes from the construction of the tightly woven fabric and is not a chemical finish applied to the skin.
WHICH SKIN IS PROTECTED?
Only skin fully covered by the certified fabric benefits from the UPF 50+ protection. Nails and fingertips are intentionally left exposed.
ARE THE GLOVES A MEDICAL DEVICE?
No. Handsome Skin UV Gloves are not a medical device and do not replace personal advice from a doctor or dermatologist.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MY SHIELD AND MY MINERAL?
MY SHIELD feels sturdier and more shape-retaining. MY MINERAL feels lighter, softer, and more like a second skin. Both collections offer the same certified UPF 50+ protection standard for covered skin.
WHAT COLORS AND MODELS ARE AVAILABLE?
MY SHIELD consists of QUARTZ, SILVER, and BASALT.
MY MINERAL consists of KUNZITE and ONYX.
HOW DOES ONE SIZE FIT?
All models are available in one universal size. The fabrics contain stretch and are designed for a close fit. The exact feel varies per hand shape and collection.
WHICH COLLECTION SUITS ME BEST?
MY SHIELD is suitable for those who prefer a firmer, dimensionally stable feel. MY MINERAL is suitable for those who prefer a light, flexible, and barely noticeable feel.
ARE THE GLOVES SUITABLE FOR SENSITIVE SKIN?
The fabric meets OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, Product Class I at fabric level. In case of a known allergy, skin condition, or active irritation, personal advice from a suitable healthcare professional is recommended.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UVA AND UVB?
UVA penetrates deeper into the skin and plays a significant role in visible skin aging. UVB is more strongly associated with sunburn. Both forms can damage the skin.
CAN UV DAMAGE OCCUR WITHOUT SUNBURN?
Yes. UVA, in particular, does not always immediately cause redness or pain. As a result, recurring exposure can go unnoticed.
DOES UVA COME THROUGH CAR WINDOWS?
Car windows block a lot of UVB, but can let some UVA through. The exact amount varies per type of glass and any coating.
DOES UV COUNT ON CLOUDY DAYS TOO?
Yes. UV radiation can also be present when it's cloudy. Heat and bright sunlight are not reliable indicators of the amount of UVA.
WHY ARE THE HANDS SO VULNERABLE?
The backs of the hands are often exposed, used intensively, and receive less consistent protection in many routines than the face.
WHEN DO I WEAR UV GLOVES?
When driving, cycling, walking, during sports, outdoor work, manicures, and other recurring moments when hands are exposed to UV light.
DO UV-BLOCKING GLOVES COMPLETELY REPLACE SUNSCREEN?
No. The gloves only protect the skin that is completely covered by the certified fabric. Other exposed skin requires appropriate additional protection.

WHEN DO I WEAR THE GLOVES DURING A MANICURE?
Put them on after nail prep and before the first layer is cured under the UV or LED lamp. Wear them during each curing cycle.
CAN THEY BE USED WITH GEL POLISH, BIAB AND ACRYLIC?
Yes, for systems that cure with a UV or LED lamp. Nails and fingertips remain free, while the skin covered by the fabric is protected.
DO LED NAIL LAMPS ALSO USE UVA?
Many nail lamps are referred to as LED lamps because LED describes the light source. However, the curing process typically still uses light within the UV spectrum, usually UVA.
IS SPF SUFFICIENT DURING A MANICURE?
SPF can be valuable, but depends on the amount, even distribution, application time, and reapplication. UPF textiles form a physical barrier as long as the certified fabric completely covers the skin.
CAN REGULAR COTTON GLOVES BE USED?
Regular cotton is not the same as certified UPF 50+ textile. Handsome Skin's protection has been independently tested as a textile performance.
DO THE NAILS REMAIN COMPLETELY FREE?
Yes. The open-tip design leaves nails and fingertips free for prep, polish, curing, and precision work.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY GLOVES?
Hand wash recommended. Do not bleach, tumble dry, or iron. Preferably, air dry the gloves flat.
DOES WASHING AFFECT PROTECTION?
Always follow the care instructions. Damage, excessive wear, deformation, or improper washing treatment can affect the structure of the textile. Replace the pair when the fabric is no longer intact.
WHERE DOES HANDSOME SKIN SHIP TO?
Handsome Skin ships within the Netherlands and Belgium. Shipping to other countries is possible upon request via hello@handsome.skin.
WHAT ARE THE SHIPPING COSTS AND DELIVERY TIMES?
The Netherlands: estimated 2 to 3 working days, €4.95 and free from €50. Belgium: estimated 4 to 7 working days, €6.95 and free from €75. Delivery times are indicative.
HOW DO I TRACK MY ORDER?
After dispatch, a shipping confirmation with track & trace will automatically be sent to the email address provided. If necessary, please also check your spam folder.
HOW DO RETURNS WORK?
Returns can be registered within 30 days of receipt by emailing hello@handsome.skin. The item must be clean, unused, unwashed, complete, and undamaged; original tags must be attached.
WHEN IS A RETURN REFUNDED?
Once received and approved, the refund will be processed within 5 business days using the original payment method.
WHAT IF MY ORDER IS DAMAGED OR INCORRECT?
Email hello@handsome.skin with your order number and clear photos of the item, the packaging, and the issue. We will then look for a suitable solution as soon as possible.
