WHAT DOES THE UV INDEX INDICATE
The UV index indicates the expected amount of UV radiation reaching the Earth's surface.
WHEN IS THE UV INDEX HIGH
From level 5–6, the RIVM classifies the sun's intensity as strong. From level 7 onwards, the risk of skin damage is very high.
IS UVA GONE AT A LOW UV INDEX
No. A low index does not mean that all UVA exposure disappears.
DOES THE UV INDEX ALSO APPLY THROUGH CAR WINDOWS
The index describes the solar intensity outdoors and is not a complete measure for individual exposure through car windows.
